The Cinnamon Route is a 60-seater fine dine restaurant in Thiruvananthapuram, where the interior takes its cue from the spice trade. The concept is carried by a hand-drawn mural that traces the journey of the spice route from Persia to Kerala, with ships, traders and merchandise running across the dining hall as a continuous narrative. We kept the material palette quiet so the story stays in focus: dark timber furniture, whitewashed brick, exposed grey flooring and warm pendant lighting, with the saffron-yellow lettering on the glass facade picking up the colour of the spices. Framed artworks and vintage posters add layers of character, and the large windows bring in daylight and greenery. The seating is arranged for flexibility, from long communal tables to intimate corners, so the restaurant stays comfortable for both quiet dinners and larger gatherings.
